Hello! My name is Adam McKinney.
I’m a Christian in my late-twenties. I live in Wichita, Kansas where I worship and serve as the Pastoral Assistant at Evangel Presbyterian Church (PCA). I’m currently studying a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte.
I graduated from Kansas State University (Go Wildcats!) in 2018 with a B.A. in Communication Studies. Since then, I’ve spent the last six years in full-time ministry.
My wife, Anna, and I met in college and we now have two beautiful little daughters.
Here are four facts about me:
1) I am a Christian. (Briefly put, that means…) II. Our world is full of pain and evil. In Scripture, God reveals that we are the cause of all that is not good (sin), while everything good flows from him. III. I believe the only true and lasting source of comfort in this world of suffering is found in Jesus Christ, God’s son. His costly life, death, and resurrection from the dead make freedom from sin’s curse and God’s righteous wrath against it possible for anyone who puts their hope in Christ, by faith alone. IV. Free from sin, I live to to serve God by loving God and others. In this life I will never be wholly sinless, but I look forward with earnest hope to the day when Christ returns, evil is judged, and I – along with the rest of God’s people – are completely cleansed of all sin for all time and we walk with God in unhindered fellowship, glorifying and enjoying him forever. I both affirm and commend Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms as a far more detailed and excellent summary of what I believe as a Christian.
I. I am convinced by general proofs that God exists but can only be truly known through his own self-revelation.
2) As you get to know me, you might notice I’m a bit of a theology nerd. That’s part of why this site exists! I enjoy thinking and writing and I want encourage other Christians think more deeply about what we believe, why we believe it, and how it shapes our lives.
3) My hobbies and interests include: spending time with my friends, reading, playing music and singing, playing video/board games, and listening to whatever lectures, podcasts, or good music I can get my hands on. Recently I’ve gotten interested in the whole home automation trend!
4) Lastly, I’ll say this- there will always be many more qualified, smarter, and gifted Christians than I. There are plenty of more eloquent and compelling Christian blogs too! But at the end of the day, they sure can’t preach a better Gospel.¹
My hope and prayer is that this website in some small way builds up Christ’s Church and equips His people to live faithfully for Him.
